ALTALINGUA CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

AltaLingua’s Code of Conduct and Responsible Practice establishes the conduct criteria that serve as guidelines for AltaLingua in the performance of professional responsibilities. It is applicable to all AltaLingua staff, collaborators and clients to guarantee the ethical performance of work and to support work/life balance.

Purpose

The purpose of the Code of Conduct and Responsible Practices is to ensure professional, ethical and responsible conduct on the part of AltaLingua in the course of its activities. As a key element of its corporate culture, AltaLingua promotes training and personal and professional development for its employees and the creation of value on a sustainable basis.

Scope of application

The Code applies to all professionals, regardless of the position they hold. Clients, collaborators, providers and other stakeholders with whom AltaLingua engages in the course of its activity are also bound by the code.

General principles

AltaLingua is guided by a series of core principles:

  • – Respect for the economic, social and natural environment.
  • – Fostering innovation and training among stakeholder groups and the community in which it carries out its activity, striving for excellence.
  • – Striving for maximum credibility and transparency.
  • – The participation of workers in the improvement of the present and future profitability of the company.


Ethics and professional loyalty of employees, collaborators and providers

The Code constitutes a guide for the professional activity of all employees, collaborators and suppliers of AltaLingua. The basic principles of our activity are:

  • – Respect for people and the environment
  • – The right to intimacy
  • – The promotion and professional and personal development of all employees
  • – Non-discrimination
  • – Training for learning and the personal and professional development of employees
  • – Commitment to health and safety in the workplace

In particular:

  • – Respect for intellectual property and the usage rights of any tool, work or text developed or created by AltaLingua or any of its clients.
  • – Compliance with data protection and confidentiality regulations.


Work/life balance

AltaLingua respects the work/life balance of our professionals and has, since its creation, supported work/life balance measures to ensure employees the best balance between family and work responsibilities.

Relationships with collaborators and suppliers

AltaLingua will promote the assessment and selection of collaborators and suppliers on the basis of social, ethical and environmental criteria to select those who, in addition to offering the best negotiating conditions, share the principles and commitments described in this Code. Furthermore, AltaLingua shall behave ethically and in accordance with the law at all times in its relationships with collaborators and providers.

Relationships with clients

AltaLingua commits to offering clients a quality service in accordance with the policy and manual drafted for these purposes. AltaLingua also commits to operating with maximum transparency to garner our clients’ trust and guaranteeing the confidentiality of their data.
All employees are obliged to act in accordance with the criteria of consideration, respect and dignity in their relationships with clients, taking into account the different cultural sensitivities of all.

Competitor relations

AltaLingua is committed to competing fairly in the markets in which it is present, fostering free competition and complying with the legislation in force, avoiding any conduct that constitutes an abuse or restriction thereof.

Social and environmental commitment

AltaLingua’s social and environmental commitment is focused on the development of social activities such as sponsorship and collaboration with educational institutions and the provision or translation and interpreting services at no cost or at a reduced cost for groups, associations, foundations, organisations etc. With the creation of AltaLingua Academy, AltaLingua Academy has made a firm commitment to the sector and sponsors open days and workshops focused on the +employability of new graduates, learning new skills and the exchange of different perspectives on the evolution of the market, among other subjects.

Relations with authorities and administrations

AltaLingua approaches relations with authorities and administrations under the guiding principle of maximum cooperation and transparency, without prejudice to the defence of the legitimate interests of AltaLingua.

In commercial relations with employees, collaborators, suppliers and clients, all payments and charges shall be governed by the principle of maximum transparency and shall be made by bank transfer. Other payment/charging methods may be admitted, such as cheques issued in accordance with the applicable legislation on money laundering. Cash payments shall be restricted to a maximum sum which shall adhere to the legal provisions in force at all times.
