INTERN EXPERIENCE: TO ENHANCE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED.

My name is María Navarro and I started an internship at the translation and interpretation business called AltaLingua in June 2018, after finishing my translation and interpretation studies as part of my extracurricular internship program.

When I chose the company, I wanted to face the real world of translation in order to boost the knowledge acquired at university and thus, open up new horizons. To this day, I am still working in this company, which in itself speaks to how wonderful my three months of internship were.

First of all, one of the things I liked the most was the patience with which each and every one of my colleagues taught me about the day-to-day workings of the job because, as a recent graduate, there were many things I didn’t know.

I would like to highlight the kindness with which all colleagues help each other by forming a great team, which creates an impressive and motivating atmosphere in which to work.

In addition, I managed to deal with texts that I had hardly touched in my career and I managed to acquire a lot of new knowledge, both in terms of translation and computer tools such as Trados.

Without a doubt, one of the best decisions I made during my degree was to do this extra-curricular internship at AltaLingua, since I was able to learn many things about the ins and outs of working as a translator as well as how an office works, all in an extraordinary environment, which is extremely important for being happy in your work.

Of course, this is an internship that I recommend 100%, as it is a very enriching experience.
